“Boo-tiful nights and frightful delights!”
Hello everyone; how are you? How’s life? Here we are meeting again, I miss you ❤ It’s this time of the year, the spooky time, it’s spooktober everyone; so, what’s your favorite? The costumes or trick and treating or Halloween party, or just a simple movie night with loved ones and a lot of treats 😀
Here we are in Trick or Treat of 2024, let’s grab our coffee or any drink you prefer and some treats and begin…
Do you like to decorate for Fall and Halloween? Do you like to decorate them separately or mix them up and have a Falloween decoration? Do you like spooky decorations or sweet, cute ones? Whatever your mood is and however you like it, we all have to agree that this time of the year is so different from any other time, it’s witchy, spooky, and full of stories and legends, some are spooky, and others are magical.
Carving the pumpkins, decorating the house, wearing your costume, buying the treats, having some pumpkin pie and honey apples, pumpkin patches, and apple picking; going to a carnival and entering the ghost house; entering the maze and solving it; watching “Hocus Pocus” or maybe you love scary movies such as “Halloween”; going out with friends and loved ones to a Halloween party; or having dinner gathering in your home…
Everything about this month and this day is different and has something like a spirit or something; I never did any of those things, not because I didn’t want to, but because we don’t have it in Egypt, except the last few years I started hunting for decoration and watching a list of movies with the theme Halloween; also, the last couple of years in my book club we started doing a Halloween book club…
Halloween is mostly famous in the West than in the East; some religions don’t believe in it, but I think that day is magical in some way; I love the history and legends of every culture and love to dig deep into it; I love how every culture has its festivals, celebrations, and believes.
I know now that there are some parts of that world we live in experiencing the real horror, the horror of genocide, the horror of burning alive; the horror of being murdered every day they sleep and wake up on the same nightmare; but they still believe in life and believe that they can survive…
They believe in little happiness; they try to find ways to love, to live, and to smile even when they are in pain; but what about us, most of us now can’t feel anything because of the horror we see every day the social media and news; we stopped smiling and enjoying the little gesture of happiness; and some try to stay in the shadows and not know anything to stay in peace; I don’t believe that both are good; we need to know the truth and facts around us; need to know the news even if it’s horrifying; but also we need some happiness; we need some peace in our minds to stay sane; so it’s not wrong to enjoy some of what life gives you; also it’s good to feel and try to do anything to help the others; to help who are in need with whatever you can.
This time when you go out to buy something for Halloween maybe you can give something to other countries in need, when you give treats, go and donate something to those countries and anyone in need in your country; maybe when you help your kids wear their costumes, give a little pray to the kids in those countries; yes, enjoy life and keep your sanity but stop being unaware of what happens around you in the world; stop being in shadows…
