If a year was tucked inside of a clock, then autumn would be the magic hour – Victoria Erickson
Hello everyone, how are you? How’s life? Here we are again together on a new trip to the world of magic, the world of words, the world of powerful imagination, and the world of spells; the world of books, let me take you to some of my favorite Fall and Halloween reading list; let us dive into the magic…
But 1st before going so far, let’s bring our coffee or any drink you prefer and some treats for the journey on the roads of books, and without any further ado let’s go.
Harry Potter;
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
― Albus Dumbledore

If there’s a book that fits Fall and Halloween perfectly, it is Harry Potter, who doesn’t want to be admitted to a school like Hogwarts and be a student of magic, has an owl, flies with the broom; find friends for life and fight the dark magic; if you didn’t read Harry Potter yet, here is a chance to begin reading it…
If you love the movies, I guarantee you’ll love the books…
Jane Eyre;
“I would always rather be happy than dignified.”

You’re in the mood for classics, some romance with drama, here comes one of my favorites ever Jane Eyre, I think that every time I read this book is like the first time, this book you’ll find translated into any language you prefer to read…
Dracula;
“..the world seems full of good men–even if there are monsters in it.”
― Bram Stoker, Dracula

The story of Count Dracula is dark, fantasy, and full of horror, If you can’t handle a classic horror don’t go for this one, but if you want to try and give it a shot indeed this one is a great taste of Horror…
Pride and Prejudice;
“I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.”
― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

If love has another name, I can’t think of anything but this amazing novel, another classic that always has its magic, the story of love, friendship, sisterhood, pride, and prejudice; the story of Elisabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy…
Agatha Christie’s books;
“Instinct is a marvelous thing. It can neither be explained nor ignored.”
― Agatha Christie, The Mysterious Affair at Styles

I couldn’t choose one over another, Agatha Christie is my favorite author ever, I love her books so much and love how I Interact with her novels and try to solve the crime mysteries she wrote; from the 1st novel I read, I remember I was 14 or something and the novel was translated in Arabic called Crooked House, I fell in love with the story and the twist; and can’t think of a better way to read for Halloween and Fall other than reading some novel by Agatha Christie, “Then there were none”, “Death on the Nile”, “The A, B, C Murders”, “Murder on the Orient Express”, and many more…
Practical Magic series;
“I dream of a love that even time will lie down and be still for.”
― Alice Hoffman, Practical Magic

This one has been on my TBR list for so long as my TBR list is actually very very very long list, but I couldn’t resist suggesting it, it’s a series of books, and I love the movie so much, that I hoped they turn the other three books into movies, but yeah I love the movie that I know I’ll fall for this book even if it has some differences from the movie; normally I fall for books more than movies and shows and hope this magical one be like that…
Stephen King’s books;
Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win.

Another Novelist I can’t decide which book to recommend to you; one of my favorites Horror Psychological Writers; I love his novels and some of the movies that have been adapted from his books; if you haven’t read any of his books I can suggest beginning with IT or Shinning, they are amazing and have wonderful plots and twists…
Little Women;
“I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”
― Louisa May Alcott, Little Women

This is one of the classic novels about coming-of-age, the story follows the lives of four sisters, the March sisters Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, telling us their stories from childhood till womanhood…
Trick or Treat (History of Halloween);
“What a writer brought to a book didn’t matter as much as what the reader contributed.”
― Lisa Morton,

If you’re not into fiction and Fantasy, this one is non-fiction about the history of Halloween, I love that book and how it introduces Halloween from its history to the present and how it becomes what we see now, so it’s a good book, not long and beautifully written.
Shadows and Bone trilogy;
“The problem with wanting,” he whispered, his mouth trailing along my jaw until it hovered over my lips, “is that it makes us weak.”
― Leigh Bardugo, Shadow and Bone

If you already loved the show, you’ll love the novels more, they are an amazing trilogy and amazing for Fall and Halloween reading, a bit of magic, some dark and some light, some romance, and some wars; I loved how it showed the witches and wizards in different types, different powers and some of them are saints; some are normal people but also has their powers from knowledge to fighting; different from anything you’ve ever read before in this genre…
Dan Brown’s Books
“Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer.”
― Dan Brown, Digital Fortress

One of my favorites, also another one I can’t choose a book to suggest, they are all good and amazing. The twists, the plots, and the stories of each novel make it different and amazing, also spooktacular…
Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde;
“You must suffer me to go my own dark way.”
― Robert Louis Stevenson, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

I don’t know if I can talk about this one without being obsessed with it; this one was from my earliest readings, and I remember I couldn’t sleep the night without finishing it and after that, I couldn’t sleep the whole day though; I don’t know why most readers don’t suggest this one, but it’s amazing and one of the reasons that psychology knew about multiple personalities and schizophrenia…
Also, it’s a classic horror and mystery; what’s better than to spend Halloween night with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde…
