How do you plan your goals?
Hello everyone, how are you? How’s your day? Today’s post is about the daily prompt question “How do you plan your goals?”
Before answering let’s grab our coffee and have a talk on this matter, If you don’t want coffee, then any drink you prefer will be good…
Without any further ado let’s go; each one of us is different and has his/her way in dealing with everything, some of us make a list for everything, some let it go spontaneously, some plan some things, and other things leave it to chance, and some try it all.
Some even give deadlines to their goals and dreams, because they think that this way they either do it or will not waste more time on it; some seek perfection in everything they do even when they plan their goals and dreams…
I’m from the category of people who tried it all, and I had issues with perfection, still have some but I try, so how do I plan my goals? I’ll tell you, 1st, I don’t believe in deadlines for dreams and goals because I believe that if this dream isn’t mine I’ll never see it or think about it from the beginning, 2nd, I believe that I can and I’ll, it’s not easy, but giving up not in my options and choices…
I tried a lot of things, when I started doing lists and Journaling, I was seeking perfection, when something wrong happened or something on my list went wrong, or anything I was getting mad and don’t complete anything and even torn the papers in many pieces.
Also, I did something wrong when I first started planning and that was getting many planners, buying a lot of different yearly planners and weekly and so many that made me feel overwhelmed and that I’m a loser and can’t achieve anything.
Then I started getting the planners I need and that will serve me right, here comes the answer of the question above, I love writing my goals, and writing my dreams to always put it in front my eyes and lately started getting over perfection and be realistic, I try to break my goals into small goals and sometimes tiny goals to be achievable, I fell so many times and failed a lot, that tough me to be more specific and more detailed to achieve my goals and dreams…
Again I don’t believe in deadlines for dreams but there’s a deadline for goals, such as if you want to run a 10km marathon, how will you plan it? Especially if you’re not used to running, you’ll start small, you’ll break that goal into small achievable goals, so you’ll jog for the first month twice or three times weekly, then next month you’ll run three times weekly and so on until your body is ready to take more and ready to go to the marathon.
This applies to every goal and dream, that’s how I started doing it, and I’m a believer, if plan A failed, you’ve the rest of the alphabet, so never give up…
